Accessibility statement

This site was designed and built aiming for level AAA of the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) from the very first design decision, not as a last-minute review. This is a self-assessment that I carried out during development — it is not a formal audit paid for by an external specialist.

What was applied

  • Color contrast mathematically verified on the main pairs in use (text on background), all above 7:1 — the highest WCAG level (AAA) for normal text. The golden accent color is used only as decoration, never for text, because it falls below that threshold.
  • Minimum touch target of 44×44px on all interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields, language toggle), even when the visible element is smaller.
  • Full keyboard navigation: visible focus (3px outline) on every interactive element, and a "Skip to content" link at the top of each page to bypass the repeated navigation.
  • Semantic HTML, with landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer) and a consistent heading hierarchy, for people who navigate with a screen reader.
  • Descriptive alternative text on images that carry information (charts, prototype screens, award badges); purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Status messages (form submission confirmation, field errors) are announced automatically to screen reader users via "aria-live" regions.
  • Contact form with labels associated with each field and error messages linked to the corresponding field.
  • All animation and transitions respect the operating system's "reduce motion" preference — anyone who enables it sees no transition, only the final result.
  • The client logo strip moves slowly. To pause it, click or tap it, or Tab to it and press Enter or Space.
  • Mobile-first and fully responsive: tested at phone and desktop widths, with no clipped or overlapping content.

Known limitations

  • The video embedded in the Prudential case study uses an external player (Behance/Adobe) — captions/transcript depend on the source player, outside my direct control.
  • The site is available in Portuguese and English, with a PT/EN switcher in the menu.
